Abstract
Though being an officially compiled history,Jin Shu(Chronicles of the Dynasty),uses many materials from various stories,especially from Shi Shuo Xin Yu(New Anecdotes of Social Talk).Therefore,Jin Shu compiled in the Tang dynasty has the tendency of the fiction Its narration is characterized by the duality of historical narrative and fiction narrative.With the change in historical outlook from pre-Qin to the Six Dynasties to the Early Tang Dynasty as the main trail,and the continuous development of the concept of style from the fiction as the auxiliary line,this article discusses the underlying causes for the duality of narration in Jin Shu.
