Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of C-myc and PTEN in cervical carcinoma tissues and their clinical significance. Methods The expression of C-myc and PTEN was measured in 70 cervical carcinoma tissues,40 cervical intraepithelial neoplasia(CIN) and 20 normal cervical tissues by immunohistochemistry PV-9000 two-step method. Results Immunohistochemistry results showed that the positive rates of C-myc in cervical carcinoma was 72.9%(51/70),significantly higher than CIN42.5%(17/40) and normal cervical tissues 10%(2/20)(P0.05).The expression of C-myc was significantly correlated with histological grade, pathological type, axillary lymph node metastasis(P0.05),but not statistically significant in age and clinical stages(P0.05).The positive rates of PTEN trend down gradually in normal cervical tissues 90%(18/20),CIN 57.5%(23/40) and cervical carcinoma 35.7%(25/70)(P0.05).The expression of PTEN was significantly correlated with lymph node metastasis and clinical stages(P0.05),but not statistically significant in age, histological grade and pathological type(P0.05).And there are significantly negative correlastions between the expressions of C-myc and PTEN in cervical carcinoma(r=-0.484,P=0.000).Conclusion The expression C-myc and PTEN may be related to the occurrence and development of cervical carcinoma and it may have certain effect on early diagnosis and treatment of cervical carcinoma with detecting them together.
