Abstract
Objective To investigate the effectiveness and safty of aripiprazole plus antidepressants in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder. Methods 60 patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder were randomly assigned to receive aripiprazole or placebo for 12 weeks, antidepressants in use were continued.Effectiveness and adverse effect were assessed by Y-BOCS,Marks scale for compulsions, phobias, obsessions and rituals(MSCPOR)and treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS),respectively. Results The scores of Y-BOCS and MSCPOR were significantly different before and after treatment in the combination treatment group;while there were no differences in the placebo group. The scores of Y-BOCS and MSCPOR decreased more significantly in combination treatment group than in the placebo group. There was no significant difference in TESS between two groups. Conclusion Antidepressants combined with aripiprazole are more effective in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder, but adverse effects were not increased.
