Abstract

The Chinese words' meaning changes with the social development.The extension of word meaning is the most common in semantic changes.The Chinese word zai is one of important Kinship terms in the Changsha dialect,and it is equal to the word in mandarin.In the process of our society's rapid development,it is Obvious semantic change happened on the word zai in Changsha dialect.It can refer to son as well as daughter.This article analyzes the semantic expansion of the Chinese word zai as Kinship term in the Changsha dialect.Also,it analyzes the semantic expansion of the other Kinship terms in Changsha dialect.
