Abstract

The late Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China saw great changes in times and western influences,under which the repressed emotion of people in China burst forth,which stimulated the popularity of love novels.These love novels worked in turn on the readers,which rendered people to get their sorrows and repression off their chests in the reading and writing.By this,love can gain the society's sympathy and recognition.The change of individual consciousness and ideological culture implied in this process,which makes love novels have potential emotional enlightenments.
