Effect of Chinese Herb Platycodon grandiflorum′s Leading Action on Distribution of Levofloxacin in Chickens After Oral Administration

Abstract
To study the effect of Chinese herb Platycodon grandiflorum′s on distribution of levofloxacin in chicken,72 healthy chickens were divided into two groups at random.Ⅰ group:levofloxacin(10 mg/kg) was administrated orally alone;Ⅱ group:in combination with Platycodon grandiflorum(2 g/kg) respectively.Tissues levofloxacin concentrations were determined by using high performance liquid chromatography.The results showed that the Platycodon grandiflorum could influence notably the distribution of levofloxacin in healthy chickens:the drug concentration increased in lung,heart and kindey,but decreased in liver.Chinese herb Platycodon grandiflorum was proved to have the leading action and remarkable effect on the distribution of levofloxacin in chickens.
