Application of the vacuum sealing drainage for the treatment of the traumatic defect of skin and soft tissue

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of the vacuum sealing drainage for the treatment of the traumatic defect of skin and soft tissue.Methods 37 cases of the complicated traumatic defect of skin and soft tissue were admitted by our department from May 2008 to October 2011,who were experienced vacuum sealing drainage technique for the wound.Secondary-stage dermepenthesis were performed when the VSD sustained for 6 to 10 days.Results 32 patients obtained satisfactory consequence for 6 to 10 days,and 5 patients obtained the same result through two course treatment of the VSD for 6 to 10 days.Conclusion The VSD is a remarkable method for the traumatic defect,which can eliminating the secretion and necrotic tissue,stimulating granulation and shorten the recovery time of skin and soft tissue.
