Research on key points of environmental impact assessment for municipal wastewater treatment plant project

The wastewater treatment plant is an environmental engineering,however,it produces tail water,odor,sludge and etc.that bring adverse impact on the environment as well as playing the environmental benefit.In order to make environmental impact prediction and assessment more problem-oriented and generate more environmental benefits,the key points for environmental impact assessment(EIA) of wastewater treatment plant project should be indentified.According to the engineering properties and practical experience of EIA of Jianghai Wastewater Treatment Plant in Jiangmen City,we propose that the following issues should be focused on in EIA of wastewater treatment plants,such as reasonable site selection,comparison and selection of treatment techniques,impact of tail water discharge on water environment,impact of the odor on air environment,environmental impact of sludge disposal and etc..
