Analysis of related factors for visual rehabilitation in children's traumatic cataract after intraocular lens implantation.

Objective To investigate the related factors for visual rehabilitation in children's traumatic cataract after IOL implantation.Methods 131 case of children's traumatic cataract with implantation of IOL were studied.Follow up was from 2 to 36 months.Results The result showed that the corrected visual acuity better than or equal to 0.5 and 0.3 were 35.83% and 62.5%,and statistics revealed that there was positive relationship between visual acuity and age ( r=0.5056,P0.01) .The rehabilitation rate in the group of age 6～8 was lower than 9～14 ( P0.01) and the rehabilitation rate of the patient after transscleral fixation was lower than those without transscleral fixation.Patients without complication such as prolapsed vitreous,hyphema,fibrinous membrane formation and posterior capsular opacification had higher rehabilitation rate than those had complication ( P0.01) .Conclusion The successful rate of IOL implantation in children's traumatic cataract is closely related to age,implantation scleral fixated IOL,prolapsed vitreous,hyphema,fibrinous membrane formation and posterior capsular opacification.
