Clinical observation on cataract in children with IOL implantation

Objective:To observe the efficacy of cataract extraction with IOL implantation in children. Methods:Cataract extraction with anterior and posterior IOL implantation was performed on 41 eyes of 33 children with congenital and traumatic cataract aged 3～13 years old,Results:after operation,87.80% patient were relieved from blindness,58.54% obtained corrected vision,posterior sapsular opacity and uveitis was the main postoperative complication. Conclusions:It is efficient to perform congenital and traumatic cataract extraction with IOL implantation and traumatic cataract extraction with IOL implantation in children. But the choice of IOL with suitable diopter should be paid attention to,and the postoperative complication should be treated actively.
