The latest trends of Chinese historiography and its prospects

This paper includes two parts,the first part sum up the new achievements of Chinese historiography since the 1990s as follows:the theory of Chinese traditional history has been studied consciously and great progress has been made;the Chinese history in 20th century has become an important researching field;some branch subjects of Chinese historiography have been built up;the researching scope has been enlarged.The second part put forward some idea and advice for the further developments of Chinese historiography:continuing to enlarge the researching scope;paying attention for problems of contemporary history;enhancing the building of institute of historiography;establishing Chinese historiography lesson in history departments all over the country;keeping rigorous and sturdy academic atmosphere.
