Analysis of clinical effect of sodium nitroprusside in treatment of acute left heart failure

Abstract
Objective To observe the efficacy and safety of sodium nitroprusside in the treatment of acute left heart failure. Methods Seventy patients with acute left heart failure treated and hospitalized in our hospital from January 2011 to January 2012 were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group. The control group was given conventional drugs,diuretics and positive inotropic drugs. The treatment group was given continuous infusion of 50 mg of sodium nitroprusside soluble in 500 mL of 5% GS on the basis of the control group. The improvement of left heart failure symptoms was observed. Results The total clinical effective rate of the sodium nitroprusside group was higher than that of the control group, with statistical difference(P 0.05). Conclusion In the treatment of acute left heart failure, sodium nitroprusside can improve the patients' clinical symptoms and is safe and effective.
