Abstract
Objective To explore the efficacy of clozapine combined with flouxetine in the treatment of chronic schizophrenia male patients with negative symptoms. Methods Sixty cases of chronic schizophrenia male patients mainly with negative symptoms were randomly divided into combined groups(clozapine 250~425 mg/d and flouxetine 20~40 mg/d,n=30);control group(clozapine 275~450 mg/d and placebo,n=30).The course of treatment was 12 weeks. The efficiency and side effects were evaluated by positive and negative symptoms scale(PANSS)and treatment emergent symptoms scale(TESS)before and after treatment for 4,8,12 weeks. Results After 8 weeks of treatment, the total score and negative symptom score of PANSS significantly decreased in the combined group than those before treatment and control group(P0.05,P0.01).Conclusion Clozapine combined with flouxetine could improve the negative symptoms of chroric schizophrenia male patients. There is no significant difference in side effects of two groups.
