Researching on urban system in the north of Jiangsu Province based on fractal theory

Based on the fractal theory,the scale distribution and spatial structure of urban system in the north of Jiangsu Province are made a thorough analysis.The results show that:there are more medium-sized cities in the urban scale distribution,and population distribution is more balanced.But these couldn't promote the development of regional economy much better.The spatial relating degree and spatial interaction among cities are general on urban spatial structure.But the advantage of stronger degree of contacting in traffic and better accessibility has not gotten effective use.Finally some ideas that strengthen the urban connection in the area,and construct the modern network system between urban and rural areas in the north of Jiangsu province,and implement the“triangular chain”strategy,are put forward.
