Research on Size and Spatial Structure of Urban System in Shanxi Province Based on Fractal Theory

Based on the fractal theory,this paper studied the size and spatial structure of the urban system in Shanxi Province,and explored the current characteristics of its urban system through analyzing the structure of the scale.At the same time,it analyzed the characteristics of the spatial structure using correlation dimension.The result showed that the urban system accorded with the fractal characteristics,the first distribution was obvious,the structure of the urban scale was imbalanced,the spatial distribution was centralized,and it focused on Guanzhong city group of which Xi'an was the center,the architecture of urban systerm was affected significantly by natural conditions,and it caused the southern and northern economy getting behind of Guanzhong city group.Finally,for the sake of mutual promotion and common development in Guanzhong,the southern and the northern part of Shanxi,the authors proposed developmental suggestions of this province aimed at above analysis.Firstly,it should speed up the improvement of urban road system,improve the capacity of public transport and keep on pushing the developmental strategy of one line—two belts.Secondly,the northern part of Shanxi should give priority to deep on process resources,do the four major industries greatly and strongly,develop modern agriculture and red tourism actively.Thirdly,the southern part of shanxi should create urban and economical belt.
