Abstract
Objective: To assess the analgesic efficacy of lornoxicam and fentanyl in the treatment of PCA. Methods: 40 patients,scheduled for elective low abdominal surgery, were randomly assigned to one of the two treatment groups. Patients in Group A were received intravenous lornoxicam ( 2 ml/h, bolus 3. 5 ml), patients in Group B were received intravenous fentanyl (2 ml/h, bolus 3. 5 ml). Results: There was no significant difference in PI, PAR, global impression score and dose between Group A and Group B(P0. 05), however, patients in Group B experienced worse sleeping quality than those in Group A. (P0. 05) . There was no significant difference in respiratory rate, itch,nausea and vomiting between Group A and Group B. Conclusion:Conclusion Lornoxicam was an alternative to opioids for the treatment of postoperative pain.
