Empirical Study on the Applications of Conceptual Metaphor to College English Vocabulary Teaching and Learning

Abstract

Conceptual metaphor is one of the most important theories in the study of cognitive linguistics.Based on the hypothesis that conceptual metaphor plays a positive role in college English vocabulary teaching and learning,this paper carries out an empirical study combining with teaching practice,and mainly examines the effectiveness of long-term retention of the vocabulary.
