Abstract

Objective To observe the impact of blood lipid reduction by large-does Simvastatin on the high C-reactive protein of elderly acute coronary syndrome. Methods Divide elderly acute coronary syndrome patients admitted in our hospital from 2007 to 2009 into two groups, one group was treated with Simvastatin 40mg/d and the other group with conventional 20mg/d Simvastatin. We examined their serum high sensitive CRP(hs-CRP) and blood lipid and observed the impact of Simvastatin on both groups. Results The differences of serum hs-CRP in the two groups had statistical significance(P0.05).Conclusion For ACS patients, both 20mg/d and 40mg/d Simvastatin are effective on reducing hs-CRP and blood lipid,40mg/d Simvastatin has better effects in reducing hs-CRP and cardiovascular incidents.Reducing blood lipid of elderly acute coronary syndrome at early stage can help reduce terminal occurrence rate.
