Study on the nursing of stroke patients to rehabilitate their limb function through Orem self-care mode

Objective To study the effect of Orem self-care mode on limb function of stroke patients.Methods Sixty-six stroke patients were randomly divided into two groups: an observation group and a control group.The patients in both groups were given traditional Chinese medicine routine nursing,and in the meantime,the patients in the observation group were given Orem self-care mode.Results After a month of treatment,patients of both groups gained great improvement in the Barthel daily life activities index and Fugl-Meyer limb function index.Much more improvement in these indexes was shown in the observation group than in the control group after treatment.Conclusion The application of Orem self-care mode to stroke patients can reduce their disability rate and improve their self-care ability and life quality.
