Abstract
The paper discusses the present situation of the non-governmental higher education in our country, the requirements of the development of national economy on the higher education, the demands of the people on the higher education, the ability of the state to bear educational expenses and the success stories overseas and points out that the only way to popularize the higher education in our country is to develop vigorously the non-governmental higher education.
