Abstract

The effects of medium types, BA, and IBA on multiplication of adventitious buds and rooting were studied to establish a microprogation system for Anoectochilus formosanus. The results showed that the B5 medium supplemented with 5 mg/L BA had the greatest significant enhancement to the proliferation of adventitious buds and the growth of plantlets. The roots were easily formed with the addition of IBA, and the treatment of 5.0 mg/L IBA in MS medium was more effective to the growth of roots in vitro. The plant survival rate was 95 % in simplex growing medium as vermiculite or sawdust, higher than in other growing media.
