Analysis on Injury Related Death among Residents in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps 7th Agricultural Division,2007-2009

[Objective]To understand injury-related death rate and causes among residents in 7th Agricultural Division,provide scientific basis for making related intervention strategies.[Methods]Data of injury-related death among residents in 7th Agricultural Division were analyzed.[Results]277 injury-related death cases were reported from 2007 to 2009 in 7th Agricultural Division.The average yearly death rate was 53.18/105,standardized death rate was 46.23/105.Injury-related death rate was 68.82/105,44.55/105 and 46.54/105 in 2007,2008 and 2009 respectively(P0.01).Of them,it was 78.03/105 in male and 27.64/105 in female(P0.01).It was 56.56/105,66.36/105,38.60/105 and 31.69/105 in the people aged from 0-14,15-34,35-59 and over 60(P0.01) respectively.The first 4 causes of death among all the residents were traffic accidents of automotive vehicle,accidental poisoning,suicide and other accident.Rate of PYLL(potential years of life lost) caused by injury-related death was 14.03‰,it was 20.2 ‰ in male and 7.69‰ in female.Most of them caused by the first 4 causes.[Conclusion]Injury-related death rate among residents in 7th Agricultural Division is lower and traffic accident of automotive vehicle is the main cause of injury-related death.
