CLINICAL EFFECT OF PIT AND FISSURE SEALING FOR FIRST PERMANENT MOLARS IN CHILDREN AGED 6～7.

Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of avoiding caries of pit and fissure sealing.Methods:The first permanen molars of 467 children were divided into two groups, one was experimental group who were given pit and fissure sealing,the other was control group who were not given any treatment. All children were followed up for 1～3 years.Results:The number of pit and fissure sealing tooth were 934; we carry through a callback after 3 years, retention rate of sealant was 76.05%, depress rate of caries was 92.65%.Conclusions:Using pit and fissure sealing can prevent children from pit and fissure caries occurring, so pit and fissure sealing is a operative way to protect children from pit and fissure caries.
