Abstract

Objective To study the effects of simvastatin on platelet activation function in patients with primary hypertension with insulin resistance. Methods Cluster of differentiation(CD62p),Fasting glucose, insulin resistance and insulin sensitivity index(ISI) was detected in 30 healthy subjects(control group) and 30 patients with primary hypertension with insulin resistance before and after 4-8-week treatment with simvastatin(20mg/d)(treatment group).Platelet activation function was compared between two groups. Results ①CD62p in patients with primary hypertension with insulin resistance was obviously higher(P 0.01) comparing with normal subjects after simvastatin treatment. After 4-week simvastatin treatment,CD62p decreased(P 0.01),but no further change after 8-week treatment(P 0.05).②Fasting serum insulin was higher(P 0.01) and insulin sensitivity index was lower(P 0.05) comparing with normal subjects. After 4-week simvastatin treatment, fasting serum insulin was decreased(P 0.01),insulin sensitivity index increased(P 0.05).Conclusion The results suggest that simvastatin may inhibit the platelet activity of the primary hypertension with insulin resistance, improve the insulin resistance.
