Abstract

The extrusion process of aluminum alloy has been simulated on the basis of Deform-2D FEM software, and its forming process has been analyzed in detail. The influence law of extrusion speed to blank temperature field, max.damage field and tool loading has been revealed. It is concluded that the maximum temperature increases along with the increased extrusion velocity, while the maximum damage decreases firstly and then increases. The tool loading has a slightly increase with the increased extrusion velocity. The simulation results provide theoretical basis for selection of proper extrusion speed for aluminum alloy.
