Abstract

The paper presented the distribution of deformation temperature at varying extrusion speeds and extrusion temperatures in high temperature extrusion of 4032 aluminum alloy via Finite element model( FEM) simulation. The simulation results showed that deformation temperature increased with extrusion speed and extrusion temperature increasing in the course of extrusion. The paper pointed out that selection of proper extrusion temperature and extrusion speed can both efficiently increase deformation temperature and avoid overburning, thereby determining the optimum parameter range.
