Abstract

The perfective auxiliary word lai 来in Hakka dialect has many semantic functions which can be summed up to nine kinds of usage,and every one shares different grammatical function and syntactic structure in different Hakka dialect.This paper focuses on the distribution and grammatical characteristics of lai来in Hakka dialect of Fujian,Guangdong and Jiangxi provinces,making comparisons within the Hakka dialect,and finally probes into the origin of the auxiliary word lai 来.
