Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of depression treated by venlafaxine-xr. Method:Seventy three cases with depression were divided randmomly into venlafaxine group(37 cases)and fluoxetine group(36 cases).Hamilton depressive rating scale(HAMD)and treatment emergent symptom scale(TESS)were used. Results:Both groups had significant efficacies and few side effects. Conclusion:Depression treated with venlafaxine-xr had definite efficacy and good safety.
