Migration and Distribution of the Di People during Sixteen-State Period of Western Jin Dynasty

The Di people had lived together with Qiang people and Han nationality in Longnan and Tianshui of Gansu,south-western Shaanxi and Songpan of Sichuan.Their migration started in reign of Emperor Wu of Western Han Dynasty,and continued since then.They usually migrated to inland regions inhabited by Han nationality,and therefore they had a higher Hanization level than other nationalities.Up to Sixteen-State period of Western Jin Dynasty,due to the unstable situation in northwestern China,their migration became increasingly frequent and they melted with Han and other nationalities in the end.
