Tentative Analysis of Hun's Population Change in Western Han Dynasty

China's Western Han Dynasty is a time for the synchronizing of Han nationality with the neighboring minorities.There were a large number of minorities during that period in China and the Hun nationality Was one of the most flourishing one among them.In the early years of Western Han Dynasty,two regimes were formed on the basis of the Han dynasty and the Hun nationality with the Great Wall as the boundary between them.The population reached 1.1 to 1.3 million in the reign of Chanyu(chief of the Xiongnu,i.e.the Hun,in ancient China) Maodun and was further increased to 1.3 to 1.5 million at the height of power and splendor under the reign of Chanyu Laoshang.The population was only about 0.6 million,no exceeding 0.8 million,during the reign for Emperor Wudi to Emperor Xuandi.In the final years of Western Han Dynasty,the population was resumed to 1.1 million.
