Abstract
Objective:To observe the curative effect of modified Liuwei Dihuang Pills for diabetic nephropathy.Methods:Fifty-six patients were randomly divided into treatment group(30 patients) and control group(26 patients). Both groups were given diet control, glucose control and oral use of Lotensin, and the treatment group was given modified Liuwei Dihuang Pills additionally. The change of symptoms such as fatigue, edema, unwilling to speak, dry mouth and nocturia were monitored, and laboratory parameters such as urinary β2-microglobulin(β2-MG),24-hour urinary protein quantitation, blood urea nitrogen(BUN),serum creatinine(SCr) were observed before and after the treatment. Results:In the treatment group,8 patients were markedly effective,18 effective,4 ineffective, and the total effective rate was 86.67%.In the control group,5 were markedly effective,12 effective,9 ineffective, and the total effective rate was 65.38%.The difference of total effective rate was significant between the two groups(P0.05).Improvement of the 24-hour urinary protein quantitation, urinary β2-MG,BUN and SCr in treatment group was superior to that in the control group(P0.05).Conclusion:Modified Liuwei Dihuang Pills shows certain effect on reducing proteinuria and improving renal function in diabetic nephropathy patients.
