Abstract
Objective:To explore the effects of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) on myocardial damage in neonates with asphyxia .Methods:18 post-asphyxia neonates with myocardial damage,7 with severe asphyxia and 11 with mild asphyxia,were recruited. Bloods were taken at acute and recovery phase respectively for detection of IGF-1 by ELISA and CK-MB by electrochemiluminescence.12 normal neonates were collected as control.Results:①serum IGF-1 levels were markedly higher and CK-MB markedly lower in acute phases than in recovery phases in neonates with asphyxia and in control group.②IGF-1 were increased and CK-MB decreased in severe asphyxia group compared with mild asphyxia group(P0.05).The levels of IGF-1 were negatively correlated with CK-MB levels.Conclusions:①IGF-1 may implicate in the pathogenesis of asphyxia and have an effect in protection of myocardial damage in neonates with asphyxia.②IGF-1 and CK-MB would be as markers of predicting asphyxia severity.
