Abstract

Objective To comment on the efficacy and complication of 12 mm esophageal stent in patients with malignant esophageal stricture after radiotherapy. Methods Total 62 patients with malignant esophageal stricture after radiotherapy were divided into group A(32 examples) and group B(30 examples) randomly,12 mm and 16 mm stents were implanted in patients of group A and group B,The efficacy and complication were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in efficacy between the two groups, however, the probability and grade of ache in group A were obviously lower than those in group B.Conclusion The efficacy of 12 mm stent for the malignant esophageal stricture after radiotherapy is good, with mild ache complication.
