Abstract

The site of Jintan Hydropower Station is situated at a narrow river valley with a complicated topographical and geological condition,so some key problems are there for the construction of an arch dam such as a less space for the selection of dam layout,more restrictive conditions for the shape optimal design of the dam and higher difficulty for both design of the abutment excavation and the treatment of the dam foundation etc..To solve these problems,the main technical measures of adjusting the dam shape,arranging the bottom discharge outlet and paying a great attention to the concrete quality near the transverse construction joints of the dam body etc.are adopted in the design under the condition that larger discrepancy is there between the topography for design and the actual topography,moreover,both the experiences and lessons are summarized.On the whole,better effect is obtained by the final design concerned.
