Abstract

The SrTiO3 powder catalyst was prepared by precipitation and characterized by XRD and SEM,and its catalytic activity for oxidation of malachite green with H2O2 as oxidant was studied.Under the same conditions, the degradation of malachite green was investigated with ultrasound and without SrTiO3.The influence of catalyst amount, reaction time and H2O2 dosage was examined. The results showed that the rate of degradation reached 97.8% when the amount of SrTiO3 was 0.1 g,the hydrogen peroxide oxidant was 0.5 mL and the 100 mL wastewater with the concentration of 30 mg/L was treated ultrasonically for 10 min.Ultrasound displayed excellent degradation effect, indicating that the proposed method is worthy and meaningful in degradation of triphenylmethane dye wastewater.
