Abstract

Objective To evaluate the clinical significance of time-resolved fluoroimmunoassay(TRFIA)in detection of hepatitis B virus surface antigen. Methods A total of 206 serum samples were detected by TRFIA and ELISA methods respectively. And each 20 samples of high, medium and low HBsAg concentration were re-determined by the two methods. Results ①Of 206 samples,98 samples were positive for HBsAg with TRFIA assay, and 85 samples were positive for HBsAg with ELISA assay. The detection rate was statistically different between two methods(χ2=11.08,P0.01).Concordance rate between TRFIA and ELISA test was 93.69%.②In each 20 samples of high and medium concentrations of HBsAg,all were positive by TRFIA and ELISA,and there was no significant difference between two methods(P0.05).However,the detection rate with TRFIA assay was higher than that with ELISA assay in 20 samples of low concentration(χ2=4.17,P0.05). Conclusion TRFIA assay is more sensitive and has wider linear range in quantitative detection of hepatitis B virus. Moreover,TRFIA assay has more advantages than ELISA in detection of low concentration samples.
