Abstract

By using stannic chloride as the catalyst,p-hydroxybenzoic acid and n-Butyl alcohol reacted to form butyl paraben.Experimental results showed that it was the efficient, economic and environmental friendly catalyst.Under the best conditions its yield could reach 99.6%.
