Abstract
Butyl paraben was synthesis catalyzed by gallium sulfate. Factors influencing the yield were discussed and the best condition was found. Experimental results showed that the best condition was as follows:molar ratio of alcohol to acid 4, amount of the catalyst 0.6g and reaction time 5h, the yield can reach to 94.8%. It was the efficient, economic and environmental friendly catalyst.
