Efficacy and safety of domestic repaglinide in treating type 2 diabetes

Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of domestic repaglinide in type 2 diabetes patients.Methods Thirty patients with type 2 diabetes were treated with domestic repaglinide 1.0 mg,three tirnes a day,for 12 weeks after a two-week′s washout period.Observations were made on the changes of fast and postprandial blood glucose,HbA 1c,liver-kidney function,body mass,blood lipid and others.Results The fasting and 2 h postprandial blood glucose and HbA 1c levels decreased significantly after domestic repaglinide treatment(P 0.01).Body mass increased.The creatinine level also increased but within the normal range.Liver function was normal.Conclusion Domestic repaglinide has the effect of improving glucose metabolism.It is an effective,safe and cheaper drug in the treatment of diabetes.
