Abstract
In the history of pedagogical studies, scholars have made every effort to make pedagogy a standard science, but no appreciable success has been achieved whether they adopt the positivistic paradigm or the quantitative method,or the neutral value-free attitude. In our country scholars have set up a standard of three independency for the study of pedagogy, but it has been gradually proved invalid by practice. In the process of multi-disciplinarity permeating the field of pedagogy, pedagogy experiences a crisis of being colonized.Scholars realize, after serious rethinking, that multi-disciplinarity gives pedagogy an advantage in its development. Therefore, pedagogy is beginning to transform from a colony to an empire. In this transformation, pedagogy finds it necessary to break the traditional disciplinary boundaries and make it an area in which multi-disciplinary communication is contributory to the enrichment of scholarship.
