A Summary of Studies on Ideological Theory by Foreign Scholars

Since the concept of ideology proposed by Tracy came out,especially the publication of German Ideology by Marx and Engels,a strong wave of the study on ideology has been created by the western scholars,of which there are both Marxist tradition and non-Marxist one.Based on a study and classification of the main theories in this field by the western scholars,the present paper has summarized the concepts in a number of areas such as the ideology,ideology and politics,ideology and science and technology,ideology and psychoanalysis,and ideology and culture.The research result will not only push forward the development of the study of ideology theories,but also provide useful approaches to the development of ideological field in China.
