Abstract

OBJECTIVE To improve the hand hygiene compliance of staff of central sterile supply department(CSSD)through effective measures.METHODS The interventions were taken for the hand hygiene compliance of 21staff in CSSD,starting from the formulation of system and intensification of hand hygiene awareness, the interventions also included the training of hand hygiene knowledge and assessment after the training, regular assessment in position, and onsite supervision, then the awareness of the hand hygiene compliance was compared before and after the interventions by written answers and onsite operation.RESULTS The score of theory test for hand hygiene was(56.47±9.67)points before the interventions,(92.14±4.75)points after the interventions;the score of operation test was(55.57±6.48)points before the interventions,(81.80±7.53)points after the interventions, the differences were significant(P0.05).The qualified rate of hand hygiene was 95.24%after the interventions, significantly higher than 57.14%before the interventions, the difference was statistically significant(P0.01).CONCLUSION The intensification of awareness, training in place, tracking and examination, and regular on-site check are the comprehensive interventions to improve the hand hygiene compliance.
