Abstract
Objective To study the influence of education intervention on hand hygiene knowledge, hand hygiene compliance and qualified rate of hand hygiene of medical staff. Methods The doctors and nurses of 16 sample department were selected as the study object, they were investigated and intervened, and the situation before and after the education intervention were analyzed. Results After education intervention, the hand hygiene knowledge and hand hygiene compliance of medical staff were significantly higher than before, especially that the advantages of quick disinfectant raised from 8.68% to 8.68%, hand-dry methods raised from 30.2% to 80.7%, the correct answer rate of hand hygiene concept raised from 43.4% to 76.5%, hand hygiene compliance rate increased from 49.5% to 75.0%, and qualification rate of six-step hand-washing method increased from 58.0% to 74.0%. Conclusion Behavior education intervention, supervision and management, hand hygiene monitoring and timely feedback, can effectively promote the hand hygiene compliance of medical staff, make the hand hygiene compliance persistent and reduce the hospital infection effectively.
