Effects of different low-dose regimens of hormone therapy on quality of life and blood biochemistry in early postmenopausal women

Abstract

Objective To compare the effects of different low-dose regimens of hormone therapy(HT) in early postmenopausal women about quality of life and blood biochemical.Methods Applied 100 early postmenopausal women between May 2010 to May 2011 with apparent perimenopausal syndrome symptoms were assigned into two groups.Group A:50 cases(Estradiolvalerate 1 mg/d+medroxyprogesterone acetate 2 mg/d);Group B:50 cases(Tibolone 1.25 mg/d).The subjects took calcium once a day by 6 months and compared the changes of each group of clinical symptoms and blood biochemical before and after treatment.Results The Kupperman scores of groups with before and after treatment decreased significantly(P0.05),and the comparison between groups had no statistically significant difference(P0.05).The blood biochemical showed no obvious adverse effects excepting elevated HDL-C and the platelet slight decrease.Conclusion The small dose hormone therapy by six months which can be improved to early postmenopausal women's quality of life in some extent.
