Abstract
As the cognitive basis of metaphor,image schema is a model of the construction of metaphor that play an important role in the cross-domain mapping.By summing up the main image schemas and metaphors in an Obama's speech on education and analyzing the functions of image schema in the construction of metaphor,the structure of the source and target domain of a metonymic mapping in conceptual interaction between metaphor and metonymy,it is concluded that the specific ICM is subject to particular cultural models,and different ways of thinking reflects different language schemas and individual differences of ICMs' cultural models.
