Abstract
The species composition, density and biomass of phytoplankton in seven man-made lake of Shanghai city are investigated. All phytoplankton observed belongs to 25 genera, 6 phyla. The density of phytoplankton is between 1.0×10~8 ind·L~(-1) and 9.3×10~8 ind·L~(-1), biomass between 12.4 mg·L~(-1) and 407.3 mg·L~(-1).The trophic levels of these lakes are assessed by using related biological standards. The results show that two lakes belong to mesotrophic water body, the rests belong to eutrophic water body.
