Abstract

Based on the survey of the phytoplankton community and the monitoring of the nutritional status of major reservoirs in Quanzhou City, this paper analyzes the relationship between phytoplankton community and trophic state. The results show that 42 genera belonging to 6 phyla of phytoplankton were identified in the four major reservoirs in Quanzhou City, from November 2009 to August 2010.Chlorophyta and Bacillariophyta were the main phylum and accounted for more than 60% spieces of phytoplankton. Results also show that there was a significant positive relationship between the density of phytoplankton and trophic state index in the four reservoirs. In Huinu Reservoir, there were many species and high density of phytoplankton, and the dominant species were eutrophic phytoplankton, which may have a higher risk of the outbreak of water bloom. The other three reservoirs contained high density of phytoplankton and the dominant species were also eutrophic phytoplankton,so they did not rule out the possibility of the outbreak of water bloom. The study is of great significance for carrying out the prevention and control work for reservoir eutrophication.
