Abstract

Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect and safety of sclerosis therapy for hepatic cavernous hemangioma guided with ultrasound. Methods Nineteen cases of cavernous hemangioma guided with ultrasound before sclerosis therapy and all were followed up for 1,3,6,12 and 24 months. Results The diameter of cavernous hemangioma was significantly decreased from(6.9±1.6)cm to(3.7±1.1)cm in 3 months(P0.01) and(1.2±0.8)cm after 6 months(P 0.01).The blood supply to cavernous hemangioma was completely disappeared. Conclusion The ultrasound guided treatment is a safe, effective method for hepatic cavernous hemangioma. It has the advantage of less damage, rapid recovery and no complication.
