Abstract
Parkinson disease is the most common neurodegenerative disorder in the aged. Although the pathogenesis of Parkinson disease is concerned with genetic and environmental factors, the relative contributions are not very clear. α-synuclein may contribute to the relationship between genetic and environmental factors in pathogenesis of Parkinson disease. And oxidative stress generated by dopamine may be the common pathway of the neurodegenerative. In this article, we review the role of α-synuclein and oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of Parkinson disease.
