Clinical follow-up of interventional therapy on bleeding following rupture of anterior communicating microartery aneurysm during the acute phase:analysis of 35 cases

Abstract
Objective To explore the significance of interventional therapy of embolization with spring coil on bleeding following rupture of anterior communicating microartery aneurysm during the acute phase and the effect of embolization degree on prognosis.Methods The method of therapy,degree of embolization during operation,the result of follow-up and clinical significance of 35 patients with ruptured bleeding of anterior communicating microartery aneurysm during the acute phase treated by spring coil embolization were analyzed retrospectively.All ruptured aneurysms were solitary.Of 35 cases,27 cases were treated by spring coil embolization alone,and 8 cases were treated by stent-assisted spring coil embolization.2-year follow-up was given after operation.Results Of 27 cases with single coil embolization,11 cases achieved dense occlusion,and 16 cases achieved partially filled.Of 8 cases with stent-assisted coil embolism,6 cases obtained dense occlusion,and 2 cases were partially filled.Five cases with single spring coil embolization were given another interventional therapy because partially embolized tumor cavities still had blood flow.After followed-up for 2 years,all 27 cases undertook dense occlusion and 3 cases partially filled(excluding 5cases experienced 2 times operation).Conclusions The aim of spring coil embolization therapy on bleeding following rupture of anterior communicating microartery aneurysm during the acute phase is decompression and stopping bleeding of tumor cavity,and it is safe and effective.The postoperative aneurysm residue does not lead to re-bleeding,and partial embolization could also obtain decompression and stopping bleeding.
